We and sufferers from these frequent skin-tears are extremely fortunate that the Research Department at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital have independently made a successful grant application to the National Institute for Health Research for the operation of this large Pilot Study now named STOPCUTS.
This is currently operating in the East Devon Area. We will not know the outcome of the Study until mid-2015.
With the assistance of a specialist and qualified adviser, DERMATUff have designed a protocol for and carried out two separate evaluations based upon which there will be one combined report.
The evaluations were managed by very experienced and well qualified Research Nurses known as Study Coordinators.
Volunteers were obtained from amongst the patients of an East Devon GP practice and separately from applicants to this website, volunteers from the ‘Exeter 10,000’ (a listing of 10,000 people who are prepared to take part in clinical trials) and from some other separate GP practices.
These evaluations showed excellent results, will be professionally written up and published on this website and in medical magazines.
