What we collect and store
While you visit our site, we’ll track:
- Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
- Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
- Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order
We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.
When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

For example, we will store completed order information for 3 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.
We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.
Security Logs: The IP address of visitors, user ID of logged in users, and username of login attempts are conditionally logged to check for malicious activity and to protect the site from specific kinds of attacks. Examples of conditions when logging occurs include login attempts, log out requests, requests for suspicious URLs, changes to site content, and password updates. This information is retained for 180 days.
Who on our team has access
Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:
- Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
- Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
Our team members have access to this information to help fulfil orders, process refunds and support you.
What we share with others
We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you; for example, Google Analytics and Sage Pay.
This website uses various web analytics tools (Google Analytics and Yoast) to help analyse how users use the site. These tools use ‘cookies’, which are text files placed on your computer, to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) is transmitted to Google. This information is then used to evaluate visitors use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity for www.dermatuff.com.
We will never (and will not allow any third party) use the statistical analytics tool to track or to collect any personally identifiable information of visitors to our site. The web analytics vendors do not associate your IP address with any other data held by them. Neither we nor the web analytics vendors will link, or seek to link, an IP address with the identity of a computer user. We will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personally identifying information from any source unless you explicitly submit that information via a fill-in form on our website.
We accept payments through Sage Pay. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Sage Pay, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
This site is scanned for potential malware and vulnerabilities by WordFence. We do not send personal information to WordFence however, WordFence could find personal information posted publicly (such as in comments) during their scan.

How long we retain your data
We retain personal data for inactive accounts for up to 3 years. Inactive accounts are those that which have not logged in, or placed an order, for the specified duration (3 years). These accounts will be deleted. Any orders will be converted into guest orders.
We retain personal data for pending orders for up to 6 months. Pending orders are unpaid and may have been abandoned by the customer. They will be trashed after the specified duration (6 months).
We retain personal data for failed orders for up to 6 months. Failed orders are unpaid and may have been abandoned by the customer. They will be trashed after the specified duration (6 months).
We retain personal data for cancelled orders for up to 6 months. Cancelled orders are unpaid and may have been cancelled by the store owner (Dermatuff) or the customer. They will be trashed after the specified duration (6 months).
We retain personal data for completed orders for up to 3 years before anonymizing the personal data within them.
Security logs are retained for 180 days.
Media
If you upload images to the website (e.g. when writing a review), you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
If you fill out our contact form, we will ask for your name (required), email address (required) and telephone number. We will not use this information for marketing purposes and it is solely used as a method of communication.
Our contact form does not:
- track users by stealth;
- write any user personal data to the database;
- send any data to external servers;
- use cookies.
Cookies
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish a comment/review, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
